Congrats on starting your first wikiHow article!
Like all new articles, it will now go through a quality review process to ensure it follows our community guidelines. If your article meets those guidelines, you’ll get a note letting you know that it’s been promoted.

Hello! I just noticed that an article you started (How to Kill Your Cat with Kindness) was written as a joke. Unfortunately, we can’t keep joke articles. That doesn’t mean that humor isn’t allowed on wikiHow, it’s just that practicality comes first. Maybe you can try rewriting it with a more serious tone. Sometimes “joke” topics can become useful articles. One of our most popular pages, How to Do Nothing, started off as a joke, and now it has over 700,000 views! So give it a shot, and let me know if you need help. Otherwise, the page will probably get deleted in a week or so. Either way, I hope you stick with us and keep contributing! Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for writing a new article here! wikiHow editors appreciate that you’ve taken the time to contribute to our shared how-to manual.
I’m writing to let you know that your recent article (How to Tell if the Article “How to Kill Your Cat With Kindness” Is a Joke) has been nominated for deletion because it appears to be a “vanity article”. Articles that appear to target a very small group of people (e.g. co-workers or friends) are not permitted on wikiHow. Read our deletion policy for details.
Don’t worry, a nomination for deletion doesn’t guarantee that your article will be deleted. If you think it has been made in error, please comment on the discussion page explaining how this topic might appeal to a larger audience.
You can do more research on the topic and then provide some references to 3rd party sources showing that this topic appears in major mainstream media sites. The community will then review your comments and the article before making the decision to keep or delete it.
I don’t want this nomination for deletion to discourage you. Learning all of the wikiHow policies can take some time. wikiHow does get easier. Read the Writer’s Guide for some tips. I hope you stick with us and keep contributing!
