Cool – you’re full of ideas lately. It’s fab! Been doing them with the nuns, too?

AnnaAnna said:

Hah, sounds like me! My mum has the green thumb but I do not. Mum is a gardener for fun, and my sister is a florist for fun and in her profession… so who knows why I didn’t get that skill!

I’m sure you’ll win them over for the farm project… I bet it’s impressive seeing all the finished products up together!

AnnaAnna said:

Hahah, sounds like H has some good new hobbies! Important to keep him well fed so he can do good work there 😉

Hah, too true on the drinks front… not really our crowd! But I’m sure we’ll find plenty of nice things to do anyway!

Ah yes I’m afraid everyone’s user page maxes out at 100 – it’s too many numbers to crunch otherwise, to get that view data. Would slow us all down 😉

You can always look at the number of views at the bottom of any given article, though! If you want me to email you a list of all the articles you’ve started for you to save somewhere on your computer, I can do that, too 🙂

At 17:12, Feb 02, 2018

AnnaAnna said:

No problem – I’ll do that today!

Sent you the list!

I’m glad the primose project was such a hit – how lovely to get some of that vibrant color when it’s all wintery out there.

Hah, good the old teacher is keeping you on your toes! Can’t forget to dot the “i”s and cross the “t”s… or add the apostrophes!

Heh, your plan for convincing H sounds good! Tell him we’d love to see him again, too 🙂

Hmm I don’t think the place cards or spring part is too vague, but the various media might be a bit general. What about just How to Make Spring Place Cards?

At 20:08, Feb 19, 2018

AnnaAnna said:

Thanks for your edits on Make Spring Place Cards Using Various Art Media.

I started the format here: https://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Make-Spring-Place-Cards-Using-Various-Art-Media&diff=24066924&oldid=24066664

If you add a # before each step and make sure there are no blank lines, the rest should fall into place 🙂

Hey there, I wanted to let you know that I just promoted your article on How to Paint a Bunny in Watercolor. That means it’s now fully published and searchable so that readers can find your good advice! Nicely done 🙂

At 18:05, Feb 22, 2018

AnnaAnna said:

Adorable bunny! How did the nuns like the project – have they tackled that one yet?

At 19:01, Feb 22, 2018

AnnaAnna said:

Sure thing – I tweaked it all here: https://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Paint-Soft-Bunny-Fur-in-Watermedia&diff=24083142&oldid=24083077

When you add the inuse, don’t worry about adding the date. Just type: {{inuse}}. The date is automatic 😉

Adorably fuzzy bunny! Aw yes, I bet they’ll love the birdy one. You should snap a pic of their end results one of these days, or better yet, get them to upload them (long shot, I know!) 😉

You can dooooo it 😉

If you have trouble, drop me a line tomorrow and I can help out and show you the tricks for future 🙂

At 22:09, Mar 05, 2018

AnnaAnna said:

Can you send me the page you mean, Ginny? It’s hard for me to comment without knowing the context.

Consistency in the imagery is a factor if you’re talking about the broad scale of all wikiHow articles, but there are certainly niches like crafts/art/watercolor/etc where exceptions to that make sense. So consistency wouldn’t necessarily be the rule of thumb on the kinds of topics you create. We’ve excluded your articles from having their images redone for that reason.

Sometimes articles that don’t necessarily need editing or visuals get swept into the queue based on reader feedback or other data (this shouldn’t happen to yours on the visual front, but it’s possible they were redone before we started excluding your articles, which I think was the summer before last or so, when you and Chris worked on the reverts together?). Generally, these decisions come down to reader feedback. We’re constantly trying to improve helpfulness ratings and feedback from readers, to better meet their needs.

That being said, when our team is looking at many, many titles at once and trying to process what topics could use redoing to make them more helpful, some topics that don’t need redoing sometimes slip through. Sometimes a bold edit is worth trying, and other times it isn’t. Let me know what topic you’re talking about, and hopefully I can shed some light on what happened and where we can go from here 🙂

At 22:47, Mar 05, 2018

AnnaAnna said:

PS I looked through our database entries for articles you’ve started and couldn’t find any that we’d done a big edit on. Course, that doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened, but I’d like to follow up and see what the deal was. Can you link me to it?

At 23:25, Mar 05, 2018

AnnaAnna said:

Ah I see, okay. I thought you meant that the article text had been re-edited, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here. Sorry I misunderstood!

Anyway, I talked to Connor (head of our visual team), and we’re on the same page about not redoing watercolor images like this. It looks like this one just slipped through when he had a big list of thousands of topics he was processing. Sorry about that! He sends his apologies and has undone the changes – luckily nothing is ever irreversible on a wiki. I appreciate your spotting the issue!

At 00:06, Mar 06, 2018

AnnaAnna said:

Sure thing, Ginny – I’m glad the visuals are back, too. Just in time for Easter, after all 🙂

Aw I’m so sorry to hear that, Ginny – what bad news. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that her health looks up, even if that’d mean beating the odds. Paint an Outdoor Garden Scene in Watercolor is such a nice one, too. I’ll be keeping her in my thoughts this weekend!

AnnaAnna said:

I’m glad it helps you in some small way – though not as much as it helps all those readers and new painters out there! I hope your friend is doing better. Sending hugs!

I’m glad you got to see Pat and that it was good to see her. I can well imagine the difficulties, but I’m glad you overcame them! Well worth it, I’m sure.

Oh it’d be lovely to have you join us! Just let me know fairly soon, as our office manager is looking at field trip reservations shortly and we’ll want to include you in the numbers. I hope it works out!
